Transmission issues?

Hi, I have a 2020 2500 Diesel. Purchased in October of 2020 and now has 8,000 miles. Love the truck.. only issues so far is when I shift to drive or reverse.. it occasionally will not go into gear. I will have to put it back in park and attempt again, then it will work. Today, I was dropping my kids off at daycare.. was parked for about 5 minutes with the truck still running.. was in the process of getting my baby out of the truck when my truck suddenly started moving forward on its own... ran and jumped into the truck, backed it up, put it back in park. Left it running and instinctively jumped out of the truck and checked on my 5 year old who was already out of the truck and was standing nearby.. moments later it happened again.. and I had to jump in and put it in park and turned the truck off. It is now at the Dodge dealership and will find out more tomorrow.. has anyone experienced any issues similar to this?!

Sounds like the linkage might need adjusted. Hopefully it's that simple. Considering the danger involved with what happened they may just replace the trans to be safe.

That is scary. I have never heard of this. Please be sure to follow up and let us know what find out.

That’s a lot of truck to be going all Christine. They definitely got to find that problem.
