I've always used Royal Purple in my other trucks and had pretty good success and never added any additional friction modifiers. It seems like the Mopar factory part numbers are confusing. What are you guys running Amsoil Severe Gear, Mobil 1, factory?

I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic ATF in the transfer cases, but the Ram calls for Transfer Case Fluid. Is this something special or contains some additional additives?

The Aisin calls for Mopar ASRC fluid. Are there any other alternatives? I bought an extra trans filter with pan gasket. Anyone know if the Torque Converter can be drained as part of the service?

I assume this electric power steering is a sealed system? I always flushed the system as part of the maintenance on regular power steering systems and never had any failures. I assume this would be more trouble than it's worth here?

This is my first Cummins so it has a CCV filter which seems pretty unique. Any EGR maintenance or related emission related service?

I personally use all Amsoil. changed it all at 9000 miles except transmission.

I will be using Hot Shots Secret oils, lubes, and fuel additives when the time comes for the maintenance changes.

Did Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 in my axles at 20k. Now that they are broken in I’ll probably increase the intervals to 40 or 60k

transfer case I’ll probably do oem fluid

Transmission (ZF 8 speed) I’ll definitely only do genuine ZF LIFEGUARD8 fluid

Right on the passenger side of the Aisin Tranny is a Mobil 3309 sticker. Shop around and you can find it for less than $5 bucks a quart. (Speedway Motors for one). On the transfer case, I've looked and looked for a fluid compatible with the Borg Warner. No real luck so I went with the mopar stuff. Its stupid high priced but you only need two quarts. I did Mobil 1 in the diffs. I used it in my last Dodge HD that went 500,000 when I sold it and it is still going. No problems. On the power steering in it, I used a turkey baster and just sucked out the old reservoir and refilled with ATF+4 once a year. It is still original after half million miles!

Does the rear diff really use a gasket (Part # 68454491AA) ?

I didn't see a part number for the front. Assume it's the ole silicone special?

Gasket is reusable. No need to buy another unless yours is damaged

I am using Redline 75W140. Used it for 18 years in my 2003 dually and no issues. I used recommended Mopar 75W90 at first in the 2003 and the rear end went out under warrantee. Tech who put the new ring and pinion in it said the Mopar stuff is too light. So I gave him some Redline 75W140 and had no issues for the next 18 years. Changed out every couple of years.
