Had no issues pairing the 8 tire sensors to the truck. Took a 400 mile trip this week. All 8 sensors reported at some point but rarely all at the same time. Tires would randomly drop off, usually on the rear axle but occasionally on the front. I have tandem axles with duals. Thinking of moving the receiver box from behind the steel bumper to a position where it can better receive the signals from the sensors. Just need to figure out which module is the receiver.

Well,

Ram only claims it will work reliably up to 33 feet. So if you have 8 sensors that tells me your trailer is way longer than 33 ft. The sensor is on the back of the bumper behind the license plate.

I am positive he is not longer than 33ft from the receiver to the wheels with his 5th wheel

Crawled under the back of the truck today. It appears the receiver module is mounted to the plastic center of the bumper. Just left of the license plate. Seems like there is no steel blocking the signal. Maybe a bad receiver?

I was confused with the blind spot monitor distance on bumper Trailers.... although I just lie and call 5vers conventual.

But with your issue the easiest would be to replace the bumper sensor... hopefully the dealer will be easy to work with on this. I think I paid $80 for the sensor online, if you have to pay for the replacement.

Rather than mess with the dealer I think I will just buy another sensor.

And of course in Canada, they are worth a fortune. I may try moving it. Looking at the parts catalog, it may be mounted behind steel. Taking it to the dealer is probably futile as the truck needs to be on the road with a trailer to duplicate the problem.

I believe it's behind the plastic part of the bumper cover, next to the license plate.

Hard to tell but I think there is bumper steel behind the module even though it is attached to plastic. Found a diagram on a mopar parts site and it looks like steel where the module is mounted. No one else apparently has the same issue. Gonna be a waste of time going to the dealer.

The license plate is attached to plastic IIRC - if there is steel its sandwiched between the plastic the plate screws in to and the plastic the module is attached to. The module is just attached with the plastic push pin/clips.

I can't tell for sure if there is steel sandwiched there. Regardless, it should not be dropping signals from the sensors. I had the push pins out yesterday and can move the module up just over the upper edge of the bumper, hopefully improving the signal. I will speak to the dealership but not holding my breath.

It has a mind of its own. I paired mine successfully and then once I shut the truck off they stopped communicating. I didn't have time to mess with it before our trip. About 3 days in, I started getting a message that the truck could see sensors, but they weren’t paired. A day or so after that, they started working and have for several days now.

Crazy. The sensors do stop sending a signal a few minutes after the tires quit rolling. Saves batteries. Maybe my system will straighten itself out too. Won't know until the fall. In the mean time I will try locating a reasonably priced receiver in Canada.
