Good afternoon,
I have a small utility trailer with a flat 4 pin plug for the brake lights but my truck has a round 12 pin plug. Is there an adapter or will I need to change the plug on the trailer?

The 12 pin I believe is the camera plug, there should be a 4 flat right above the 7 blade trailer plug.

Thank you Darkside. The 12 pin is above the 7 blade plug on the passenger side of the hitch. There is no 4 pin plug anywhere.

When equipped with the trailer camera, the plug is 12-pin on top and 7-pin below. There is no 4-flat on them.

7-pin to 4-flat adapter is needed.

I'd go with either Hopkins or Curt, both are OEM for various towing parts on our Rams.

There's also combo 4-flat and 5-flat if you think you'd ever need it, and of course 7-pin to 6-in adapters for older trailers/horse trailers, etc.
