good day. I’m trying to build a trailer backup campera setup to connect to my factory installed rear view mirror, yes I have the bumper plug. The issue is the mopar trailer backup camera kit is more money than a 360 trailer kit. I can buy the male connector as shown in my attached image, but I can’t find a cable for sale that connects to threaded part of the connector. Any ideas? I can get any old backup camera for cheap with uses rca style
Video cable then I can switch it to fakra no problem with an adapter , but how to I go from fakra to this threaded style coax?
The mopar cable with connector on it is part number 68525798aa. It’s a $300 cad cable and hard to find, I can use fakra from Amazon in any length for dirt cheap, I just need to connect to the said male connector.

RP-TNC coax connector screws into that adapter. So you need that on an RG-58 coax cable, and fakra z female plugs into the camera.

You can’t just use any camera for the digital rear view mirror. It is only a specific part number camera that is proprietary to work with the mirror display. The part number of the camera depends which year digital mirror you have.

Thank you for your help. I also read today that there is two different part numbers for trailer camera kits for rear view mirror, one for 22my and one for 23+my. The 23my kit shows a repeater in the kit.
So my question is will a 68527599aa (2022my) work with a 24my 3500.

Yes, but there will be a brief “rear view mirror unavailable” message in the EVIC on each startup (the mirror still functions the way it should though).
With that 68527599aa mirror, you have to use camera part number 68448640AA. No other camera will display with that mirror.
