I bought a 2015 Eco Diesel Ram 1500 5 years ago. I loved that truck however I now need more power and towing. So I traded my Eco for this blacked out night edition mega cab 2500/ Cummins . I was worried that the ride was not going to be as nice as my Eco was, however this truck drives like a dream, and the power well, I have to watch my speed because I find myself going 60 in 40 without feeling it. I joined this group because now that I have a new engine I need to learn as much about it as possible. When I bought my Eco I joined groups to learn about my truck and I learned so much from others. So here I am to learn about this truck and engine. Regens are a big question. I used to have take a regen joy ride to often in the Eco. I notice this truck has a gauge on the dash showing the filter. I used a CTS Edge monitor on my Eco to force regens or clear codes. Have to check to see if there is upgraded software I can download for that that will work with this truck. That Edge is pricey would hate if it will give me the same diagnostic features on this truck. If I don't have passive regens will I have to take a wonderful 12 min regen joy ride to clean the filter ? This truck is a Laramie, I don't like the shift handle, the Eco had a turn knob to put it in gear. It is tall it didn't have running boards and I could barely get in it. I installed the heater core plug today, much easier then on the 1500, however I see the oil filter is not as conveniently located like the 1500, along with the front fuel/water filter. If anyone can send some education or things I should look for in this engine please post. I have a lot to learn. I am pretty proud to show this thing off, it does look bas as$ going down the road!!!! Hope to make some good friends here!!!!
