TPMS didn't signal flat tire

I picked up a piece of metal and my TPMS was showing outside rear tire with 1-2 psi. No dash warning lights at all.

I know it used to signal for low pressures.

A 3500 won't alert, it's considered a TPIS (Tire Pressure Information System)

You have a TPIS, not TPMS system. It only gives you tire pressure readings, no alarms.

While it won't help for the current situation, you can change that via AlfaOBD if you'd prefer it be set to TPMS.

TPIS is cool. TPMS is a horrible nanny thing. I'd love to be able to see what my tire pressures are without the nagging that they are "low". I may have to break down and get AlfaOBD

I believe that trucks with a GVWR of 10,001 and higher are not required to have TPMS, my '18 3500 srw with a 12,300 GVWR had TPIS
