My 2019 3500 SRW Laramie Longhorn came with the Towing Technology Package which claims it has blind spot detection - I assumed this meant while towing. However whenever I plug my Gooseneck trailer into my truck it immediately disables blind spot detection. Do I have a problem or is this another case of mis-advertising capabilities?

Even if it says "truck only" why would it disable it when you hook up a trailer and why if it is only used if you are not towing would it be part of the Towing Technology Package?

I guess my point is that is not what is expected when you buy "towing technology" with blind spot detection. That is very misleading. Blind spot detection is only available when not towing. So why include it in a towing package? The implication is that you get blind spot detection while towing since it is part of the towing technology package.

Blind spot detection is separate from the Towing Technology Group.

Towing Tech Group is : Trailer Reverse Guidance, CTR Stop Lamp w/Cargo View Camera...it was supposed to include TTPMS and an AUX External Camera, but those won't be available until later.

Hi, want to jump in here as i am a new owner of a 2500 with the tow tech group, and am not clear as to what the Trailer Reverse Guidance is supposed to do? So i have IT, just trying to figure our what IT is?

Also i got the truck with the AUX camera prep package, but from what i can see there os no difference between what i have and any other 2500. Do you have any idea what that was supposed to include and if that something i can actually see? I realize the camera is not available yet, which is ok, but want to make sure that i got what i paid for..

It is my understanding that about the only visible difference will be that the 7 pin adapter in back should be a 12 pin to accommodate the trailer camera connections. Aside from that, the camera wiring should not be noticeable.

The reverse guidance is (mostly) the side view mirror cameras giving you a better view down the trailer with a left/right adjustable view. I have yet to see how the trailer camera will integrate into that trailer reverse guidance.

Got it. Reverse guidance makes sense. I defiantly dont have a 12 pin connector so i will go back to the dealer on Saturday and find out the details on that.. Thanks

I was towing my small 5x8 trailer the other day and noticed that the Blind Spot monitoring was not disabled but it was disabled when I was towing the 30ft Airstream...any ideas?

Gondul, does your 5x8 trailer use the 7 pin round connector or the smaller flat one? Just wondering if that’s got anything to do with it.
By the way, how are you liking the 30’ Airstream?

Yeah... should have been more specific... trailer uses the 7 pin connector.
The Blind Spot monitoring worked as if the trailer wasn't event there... it would light up as I took corners and it 'saw' the trailer.t
