I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't like not having a sticker in the jamb with our trucks tow ratings.
I get I can go enter my VIN on the website and see it.
I doubt that RAM is suggesting it is the same at the factory hitch receiver as it is at the gooseneck.

What is the rating of the factory hitch receivers?

Have you looked in your owners manual? Max weights are there.

Tow ratings are for advertising, and not much else. The published tow ratings are based on minimal tongue/pin weights, low enough that towing stability may be an issue.

Bottom line, tow rating doesn’t really tell you anything. You will almost always exceed axle ratings prior to hitting GCWR.

Your question tells me you haven’t done any research.

I think manufactures are failing the customer by not placing that type of sticker on each truck.

Owner’s manuals are a great source of information, but they pertain to all trucks generally and are NOT specifically for your truck.

I furthermore think that when you spec out a truck on a manufacture’s website that it should show what the payload, tongue weight and trailer weight capacities are and show how optional equipment changes the ratings.

I don't get why they can't put a sticker on the dang truck. You know the trooper that pulls you over won't go to Ram.com to check your numbers.

I'm sure the factory hitches are the same across all the pickups in a 2500 as a 3500 drw. Guess if they put a "this hitch is rated to 37k" or whatever it is like a 3500 rclb 2wd some dummy in a 2500 would try it. My 3500 ccsb is rated for 23k and 3,500 payload as equipped with the factory prep and is more than enough for my needs. That number these days is entirely possible bumper pull number with a pintle but they don't make it clear if that applies to just gn or both.

It is nearly impossible to achieve your tow rating, so it’s pointless to put that weight on the door jam.

In real life you will hit your axle ratings long before max tow rating.

A state trooper or DOT officer doesn’t care what Ram says you can tow. They care about what you registered for and what your axles/tires are rated for.

Its very possible to hit tow max before hitting the axle weights when towing a dolly setup or a hay wagon! Lol
