Hey all , new here.
I just installed Oem clearance lights on my truck. I want the tow mirrors running light too.
I tried to do the tow mirror running light mod. Did the wiring myself. Used a y shape wiring using power from the head light control on the driver side and power from the clearance lights on the passenger.
When the headlights or the park lights are on, the lights on the mirror come on. But when I put the right turn signal on, the blinking is very very faint. Could barely see it. When the head lights are turned off, it blinks when I have the turn signal on. With the headlights off, the headlight control panel also blinks. When I have the right blinker on with the lights off, the clearance lights flash too. I did the wiring according to all the videos I’ve been watching.
Do I need some kind of resistor and or diode for this?
I tried to do what jhd lighting did. Followed their video actually but used my own wires. I noticed in the middle of his y shaped wiring, it’s black. Is that resistor in there?
For now, they’re unplugged until I figure this out.
Thanks.
