Has anyone installed these on a 24 Dually ?
Video I watched makes it look like a pain in the ass,
Looks like you also have to unhook the parking brake cable.
I'm not to mechanically inclined, probably have to take it to a shop.
Interestingly enough I'm in the process of transferring my Bigfoot camper from my 2000 K3500 to my 2024 Ram. I have Happijac tie downs in the K3500 and they worked fine. However the newer trucks have thinner bumpers so I called Happijac to discuss. They shared my concern and recommended Happijac in the front and Torklift in the rear. They can put a custom kit together at a reasonable price to allow me to reuse some of my current front Happijac front tie down hardware.
I like the angle of the front Happijac tie down anchor points better than the Torklift. The angle puts more forward load on the camper to keep it against the front of the bed. And, depending on the location of the anchor points on your camper, the links can interfere with the flares on the dually. The other problem with the front Torklift tie downs for me is they aren't compatible with running boards that extend beyond the cab. I was going to put some longer running boards on to be used as a step to reach into the bed. On the other hand, The Torklift front mounts could be used to mount steps to when the camper is off.
The problem I encountered with the rear Torklift tie downs is they aren't compatible with the factory rear step. So I would either have to remove it or custom fab some rear anchor points. At this point I'm planning on custom fabricating some rear anchor points that mount differently than the Torklift tie downs.
I have a dually mega cab and I did forklift tie downs on my 2019, haven't swapped them to my 2024 yet but it looks the same to me. The only problem I had is having to undo the support for the bed retractable step. I notice no different in step quality at 150 lbs but the step does touch one of the tie downs when in the stowed position.
