So I got my new 2022 the other day with the cargo camera as well as the rear view mirror camera. I had purchased the BAKFlip MX4 and installed it the day I got it, but forgot to check the cameras until today. I had planned on using the tonneau cover folded back but in the down position while using gooseneck trailers, but the cover blocks the camera view of the hitch when folded. When folding the cover to the upright position, it blocks both the cargo camera as well as the rear view camera. I thought I had read that the cameras would be fine with this cover, but maybe that wasn't for the 8 foot bed. Am I better off just switching to the rolling hard cover like the Revolver X4S? Is there any hard folding cover out there that would still allow the cameras to be used?

I have a 8ft bed and a mx4. When folded all the way up and in the vertical position it rests agenst the 3rs brake light and blocks the camera. However witht the 8ft bed i can have 3 of the 4 sections folded so the cover sits flat which clears the gooseneck and camera.

How is your rear view camera blocked by the tonneau cover, its in the tailgate? Or do you mean when you are hitching up and rhe tailgate is down.

He is referring to the digital rearview mirror along with the cargo camera

Why not leave the cover folded back but not vertical you should have loads of room to still hitch up…. Even with my tool box and cover folded back i can just clear my 5th wheel dump trailer neck

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot see the gooseneck when the cover is folded with 3 of the 4 sections down. When it's folded up, it blocks both rear view and cargo cameras. My wife hauls horses around all the time, so the cargo camera was more to help her back up to the hitch, but if the cover is blocking that when it's folded down and the rear view mirror camera is blocked when it's folded up then it kind of ruins the purpose of getting the cameras.

I agree there is plenty of space back there with the cover folded down, but if she can't see the hitch then it ruins the point of helping with backing up. I was under the impression (incorrectly obviously) that I could see the hitch with the cover folded down and could still use the rear view mirror camera with the cover folded up against the back of the truck.

I'm going to try and see if I can swap this out for the hard rolling cover they have. That should in theory allow all the cameras to be functional.

Here’s the Leer HF650M folded up. Think I can see the digital rear view, but not cargo. Night time shots, sorry! Can double check in the am.
