Titan Fuel Tank.... For a HEMI!

I just picked up a 2020 CCSB Ram 2500 Tradesman with a Hemi. Traded in my 2019 Laramie mega with the Cummins. I was beating it up too hard at work and felt I was wasting money. I love this truck, with one exception: the 31 gallon fuel tank. I average 13 or so MPG on the highway and 10 or less city and on the jobsite. While I am not complaining about the fuel economy, I AM complaining about the range, or lack thereof. I know that Titan tanks are listed as "Diesel Fuel Only". My thought is what is the difference in safety between installing a 50 gallon tank vs using a 31 gallon tank and carrying another 10-20 in the bed??

So... after all that... if I were to buy a Titan tank and install it, what would keep me from getting it to work with gasoline? Fuel lines? Vents? I also understand assuming the risks myself since Titan says they are not for gasoline.

I did do the search and most of what I found was guys giving up on it since they have a gas powered truck.

Thanks for the help!

Diesel tanks are not equipped with the proper evaporation recovery connections because you don't need them for diesel fuel. There may also be some internal baffles in a gasoline tank that are missing on a diesel tank. Can you say BOMB?

To add to @Phil T said, it would also have to work with the computer on the truck to not throw codes related to the evap system.

I've seen no replacement tanks for the gasser, it isn't that it can't be done, I've seen them for Fords and Tundras.... but absolutely nothing for the HEMI (and no idea why).
We are stuck with in-bed transfer tanks...

Even the 'new' 50 gallon tank for the 2020 is only available on the 8ft bed.

Thanks for all the replies. I knew the tank would bolt in, but I didn’t know what would and wouldn’t work as far as evap and emissions go. I’m very interested in the 50 gal tank and hope it comes sooner rather than later. Please keep us updated

I want to stay fresh on this since I want one and I hope jsalbre doesn't forget about us. lol

Oh man I need this. Some of Our gas stations are over 250 miles apart and it sucks taking jerry cans when pulling a camper.

You will notice item #5 TANK. Fuel.
[48 Gallon Fuel Tank].
48 Gallon Fuel Tank.

I would be interested in knowing if we can do a swap and even dealer changed? Not sure.

It also lists the 32 gallon tank, which is also for the diesel. The 48 gal tank is definitely not for the gas trucks, or they’d be advertising it as an option.

There is a 50 gallon tank option for 2020 6.4 Hemi. Not sure if you could get that from Mopar?

Huh, when did they add that? You could definitely order the relevant parts and install them if you have a crew cab with 8’ bed. The solution I’m involved in is for crew can short beds.

Nope just for Long box and it does show up when you run the configuration on the Ram website with the 6.4L. I wanted the larger fuel tank, but could not find one in my area and needed a vehicle. I have everything I wanted but that. I have to go to the dealer today to get my side steps installed (they did not ship with the truck). I will do some inquiries then.

I have a 6.4 megacab and have been thinking about getting the transfer flow 50 gallon because its steel so if i need to add a port or fitting i could. But im also thinking adout ordering the 48 gallon mopar just to see if it fits because its alot less expensive.
