I have a dealer appointment tomorrow for the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) safety recall. I’m guessing the dealer might access my OBD port to "update the SCCM software" as they say in the recall notice.
I recall that I am supposed to disconnect the Kaodtech cable before any dealer service.
Presently, the Kaodtech cable is connected to the 2 CAN bus jumpers, but NOT to the factory OBD port. Instead, the factory OBD port is in its factory location. The Kaodtech OBD-type connectors are zip-tied out of the way (not completely hidden, but not readily visible, either).
Is this okay, or do I need to do a full remove of the Kaodtech cable prior to dealer service?
Thanks!
