Installed a set of timbrens for hauling my cab over camper. Havent had the camper on the truck yet but did pull a boat Trailer a few hundred miles. When unloaded there’s about an inch clearance between timbren and axle. With the trailer hooked up they are just engaged. And it makes for one rough ride. It’s like having a solid axel and no springs. Thinking they just don’t have enough weight on them.

Yea they are great if you only haul heavy other than that airbags are the go to

I have been researching these lately and as mentioned above if you are towing a light load they seem to be rather harsh. Another option is the sumo springs, I believe these are a little softer than the Timbrens. However, I dont think any of them will compare to an air suspension set-up.

I loved my timbrens on my last trucks. But am thinking if swapping to air. It was fine on my last leaf spring trucks. I've noticed I have to load my ranger all the way forward on the trailer to get a good ride. And with coils on my 2500 they travel to far and slam into my axle on bumps making it really rough. Rides like a dream with my heavy trailers though

Try SumoSprings, they are progressive density. I put Timbrens on and hated them. Tried different different shim heights, but truck still rode awful and beat everything in front of the 5th wheel. I installed SumoSprings (yellow) and totally different. The ride empty is like not having anything and the loaded ride is much improved.
