So, initially I loved this truck and while I still like it, the excitement has worn off very quickly. First, I regret getting a Limited. A Laramie sport would have been just as good. I've had some minor issues which the dealer could not replicate except for the shaky hood on the freeway. I got the impression the techs dont know much about these trucks. I'm very annoyed with how much DEF I go through when I dont even tow everyday. The loud thumping noises, they cannot find an issue. The positives are the tech and the interior. Before I bought this truck, it was between this and a Ford Superduty Platinum.

What really made me sick today was that I did the KBB trade in value on my limited vs a Ford Superduty Platinum, same year, same one ton style, same options and when I bought mine, the ford was identical in price and same options. Guess which one is worth about 5000-6000 more with same mileage according to kbb? You guessed it, the Ford! It literally makes me sick to see my new ram limited is only worth about 59k on trade when the ford is 64k-65k. This will likely be my last ram I think. Just not an exciting truck and from my experience, Rams tank in value compared to Ford. Again, my opinion and from my experience. I'm sure someone one here will disagree and/or is an expert on the topic.

I can sympathize with you on your issues. I've had a few myself and I keep wondering if quality is better in another brand. I've had rams for the last 10 years and nothing else. I keep coming back to the Ram because of perceived value. I feel like I get a lot for my money, but that comes at a little cost with the quality.

I've always known Ford to have a higher resale value, but I can say I don't think I've ever seen as good a deal on a Ford as a Ram( discount off MSRP). This has always been my rationale for the higher resale value; you don't get as much off on the front end so the back end is higher. I can say if I could get the same options in a Ford for the same price, I would probably try it.

I have owned LOTS of Fords, and a few Chevys, and that is precisely why I started buying Dodges. I could write a book on junk from Ford, and my last Chevy experience ended with Lemon Law proceedings. The grass is most certainly not greener on the other side.

I have ridden in friends' late model Fords, and "exciting" was definitely not what came to mind. YMMV.

None of this is to excuse any of the issues folks are having with these trucks, including myself, nor the blind eye and glad-handing BS FCA is handing out. It is a shame.
