This is why the manual is 470 pages long.

Sitting down this morning with a cup of coffee and cracked open the manual after bringing home the new truck last night.
Got to page 22 reading about replacing the battery in the key fob and read this warning ⚠️.
Is this really a problem that needs to be addressed? Don't ingest the battery???

It's basically there to say hey buddy, don't swallow it just be look funny in front of your friends... That SO FUNNY joke will kill you.
But it is actually an infant/small kid problem. Many dies every year because of this. You gotta dispose those coin cells carefully.

It is useful to put that warning in there? I say if that is to save a kid, yes. I couldn't care less of Joe the funny guy.

Liability litigation protection. Unfortunate, but it's the state of affairs. Essentially, it happened - manufacturer was sued - claim was "I didn't know & they had a duty to warn."

You can't make this sh** up. True story - I happen to be an attorney. A then-existing client called & asked me to sue car manufacturer for product liability/manufacturer defect. He had rear ended someone and said the "automatic braking" feature of his car failed to work. I looked up the owners manual and there was a very clear warning that driver is not to rely on auto-brake and is fully responsible for staying aware of traffic and, essentially not being stupid.

I used to write manuals for the installation, operation, and maintenance of large scale mining equipment.

I got called up to a C-level office one day, and walk in to a room full of suits.

Find out we had a guy on a site get crushed by a piece of equipment the size of a regular house. They came after us for improper lifting instructions.

Aside from my manual explaining how to utilize all the lift points properly and the recommended methods of lifting, we also explicitly had warnings around not standing under said equipment while being lifted; thankfully, because they were the cause of their lawyers basically saying "oh, thank you for your time" and never bothering us again.

Was treated to a free lunch at Olive Garden for my work! :eyeroll:

The litigious company that came after us, shockingly, wasn't American either, lol.
