Tennessee registration/Insurance costs and smog laws.

We'll be moving to Tennessee in a couple of months and will need to register my 2019 Ram 3500 SRW, what can I expect for costs ?

Not near my truck, but if I recall right, my '19 3500 was around $35 this year. As far as smog, there is only a couple of counties around Nashville that require it, where I am, none.

Just paid $852.00 + $65.00 smog to NV DMV , but had no choice, it was due this month.

I live in Nashville (Davidson county). There is an emissions test that costs $9, and tags are $85.68 out the door. Outside of Davidson county, quite a lot of counties don’t require emissions testing.

(I drive a 2021 RAM 2500 Cummins)

As of Jan 2022 Davidson county will be the only county still doing emissions testing. As for me new tags were around 150 or so and renewal was 80. Since I am still active military it cost me 23 here in Sumner county.

Pretty sure the 3500's are/were exempt from emissions due to their weight.

We have no emissions testing in Robertson co but pay a wheel tax. 115.00 yearly for tags.

OK we are looking at Bowling Green Kentucky, not that we quit looking in Tennessee, but the property prices are a tad bit better with a little more land.
So the same question I had for Tennessee, now applies to Bowling Green Kentucky. Lic fees and insurance costs?

You also pay income taxes in Ky but not TN. Property is more attainable in Ky for sure

Don't worry about me, I escaped SoCal three years ago, and found Vegas to be a liberal haven as well. I'm probably more conservative than most Kentuckians.
