Are the 2019 and 2020 tailgates the same for 3500 dually? I ask this question because we damage our 2020 tailgate unhitching our fifth wheel., the tailgate save our fifth wheel from from going down a canyon..

I would think they are. That's an interesting situation. What is the rest of the story?

Yes they are all the same now that they put the tri lights on the lower section of the box on the new duallys. That has allways been the only reason the duallys had a different gate part number

Worth noting the Power Wagon has a different tailgate from other 2500s, since it has the font size 800 RAM letters instead of the rams head, and they both have unique holes for clips for the emblems.

still fits the same though thats all that are asking from what i can tell

Yo brutal, do you have any pics of those lights? I am not sure what you are referring to.

I put those lights on my SRW. My truck now self identifies as a SRW Dually.
I actually did the same on my 2001 dually as i had 2 tailgates (one 5th wheel ) and my original gate was dented when i bought the truck so i used a 2500 gate and a cheap led tri light as you can see in the pic, this was when i was in the process of making a 3rd gen homemade gate fit my 2nd gen i dont have any finished pics but it turned out pretty sweet 91C9B4B2-32F5-45ED-8ED1-B148BE2C9A95.jpeg

Ok Thanks! I was not aware that dually's had them. I did an inventory search looking for what you were talking about and did not see it. They are certainly not an "in your face" addition.
Why do you suppose they thought it is necessary or just a good idea to put them on dually's and not on all HD's?

Dually's need them by law as they are 8 ft wide the rest of the trucks are under width so they do not require tri lights

Interesting...I don't see how mounting another light dead center in the rear brings attention to the excess width.

Some like them, and that's cool if you do, but after putting some thought into it, that "in your face" LED light strip was what I was trying to avoid. I also like stuff that looks more factory than tacked (tacky) on.

I'm all in with the "factory" look too.
