Tailgate Stuck Closed (without the power connected)

Help!

So we loaded a piece of equipment into the back of our 2019 Ram 3500 (without the tailgate on) and then decided to see if the tailgate would close if we put it back on (we weren't sure if it would clear the piece of equipment).

So we put the tailgate back on (but didn't connect the power because we thought it wouldn't close due to the big piece of equipment). Alas it did close but now won't open.

In summary tailgate is closed but without any electrical connections. Any ideas on how to open it?

Yes. Unbolt the panel in the inside of the tailgate (the panel with the cup holders)

There is a latch inside there that will let you manually unlach the tailgate.

Thanks. Was able to (just) get into the panel and manually unlatch it... was tight with the equipment right within a half inch of the tailgate.

There's always the plasma cutter.

You could make it into one of the new ambulance gates.
