If @RamCares is listening you will read this. As an owner how do I turn off the blue screen when backing up, with the tailgate off? During the daytime, it's no problem but at night the BRIGHT blue screen makes it absolutely impossible to see anything behind you or on the sides, because the screen is way to bright. This is a huge safety hazard. I have tried to turn the screen off, dim the screen...etc. but nothing! For everyone else, does anyone know how to turn the screen off or do anything about when you disconnect/remove your tailgate? The reason for the blue screen is the backup camera is obviously removed when the tailgate is disconnected. This is issue is right up there with the honking 3 times when you leave the truck running!!!

I don't think it's possible. There are a few somewhat old threads around the same complaint across the internet.

You may be able to do it w/ AlfaODB - but I've got next to no knowledge around the intricacies of those capabilities. That's where I'd probably start looking though.

You either plug the camera in by itself, and tie it up, or use AlfaOBD to configure the BCM for no backup camera.

I thought all RAMs with tailgate backup camera came with the block off connector that you plug in where you unplugged the tailgate, so that this doesn't happen?
Mine was in the under-floor bin.

The only purpose of the block off plate is to serve as dummy connectors for the unplugged connectors to protect them from the weather.
