Having an issue with my LS tailgate cable, and it seems to be manufactured incorrectly. It does not swivel completely to properly align with the tailgate when closing the tailgate, causing it to rub on the truck box, wearing the outer covering off the cable as well as the cable strands within several months. The RS cable seems to be fine, with no problems whatsoever, just the LS Cable. Dealer just replaced cable and it is exactly the same as original cable. Anyone else seeing this issue on their tailgates?Left Side Cable.jpgRight Side Cable.jpg

Looks like the wrong side cable on it. It looks like the right side but it should be opposite hand
I had thought of that, but the cables are supposed to be the same, R & L. So, just for laffs and giggles, I swapped cables side to side and it now works as designed. Strange thing was that the RS cable I have seems to work for both sides while the LS cable only works on the RS. Strange voodoo going on for sure. When I have a couple spare minutes and it is not snowing like crazy, I am going to have a real close look at the tailgate and cables to see if I can narrow down the cause and see if it could be something as simple as the hole punched in the wrong spot on the tailgate, causing the tab for the cable to be mis-aligned leading to the issue. Stay tuned for further updates!!
