Excuse my ignorance, and maybe this can generate some discussion to benefit others who might be confused.
I assume my 2021 ram 3500 4x4 came with factory sway bars.
I will find myself off road at some point in the future.
I've read a lot about disconnecting sway bars in off road situations, and this is where my confusion comes in.
How do I disconnect the sway bar(s)?
Is it as simple as turning off the ESC by way of the button in the cab?

No you cant disconnect your sway bars unless you unbolt them or buy/make some disconnecting sway bars.. only the power wagon can disconnect the sway bars electronically.... unless your crawling rocks or crossing big ditches don't worry about it

You can also go with a Carli or Thuren torsion swaybar. It is not like running fully disconnected, but you will get a much better ride on and offroad.

So much to learn... Thanks guys. Should be picking up my Bundutec Wild truck bed camper in Sept/Oct.
I've owned pickups before, first time with a brand new 3500 and will be the first time with a camper.
Hope to hit some roads less travelled. Psyched!

Check the Carli And Tauren sites about their sway bars and in-bed campers before buying. I’m pretty sure they don’t recommend them for high center of gravity loads.

Be forewarned, a weaker front anti-sway bar will encourage over-steer. Over-steer conditions are difficult to control and especially difficult to recover from. Vehicles are intentionally engineered with a slight bit of under-steer which is easily corrected by average drivers.
I know in independent front suspensions this is true but with the fixed nature of the solid front axle with the proper caster adjustment the chances of ever getting oversteer is almost none unless you have a ton of weight in the box... the biggest factor with no or a weaker sway bar is simpily the body roll is increased dramatically in a swerving action...

Try driving one. They help the truck handle so much better overall and the control in the bumpy stuff is amazing. Definitely no oversteer. I do agree with others they are not intended for those with campers.

I know many who drive their HDs with no swaybar. I drove my previous 2007 Ram 2500 without a swaybar for a week and hated it.
