I purchased a 12 RAM 2500 HO HD down south it's grid heater was not used much until I needed it in Pennsylvania and the Michigan Upper Peninsula, it was throwing codes of low voltage to the heater, I checked the bolt it's not loose, so I started to look at the relay, after unplugging the 2 little wires and plugging them back in and giving the solenoid a few light taps the Check Engine light went out and I can again remote start it without it shutting down. But using a good scanner I forgot the brand/model number it was almost $500.00 I still get the codes they say permanent but no CEL? I've disconnected both batteries waited 20 minutes then reconnected them the cora are still in memory? I don't think the Grid heater is getting any voltage now because I've tested it with a fluke and had my wife turn the key to on /not starting it. Could the Relay have gone bad and allow the remote start to work now without the grid heater working at all? The Relay has 4 wires 2 heavy that runs from a battery to the heater and 2 small I'm not sure what each does? I attached a photo of the relay yes the little wires are now connected again this was just to inspect the terminals for corrosion I didn't see any. Please help what do I do next? What do each small wire do? Is it a + and - or a Positive and a voltage check wire I can't find any diagrams or blueprints about this part of the circuit. I'm going to install the Banks system in spring. I'm hoping it gets everything working before then. BTW the truck doesn't come out of the garage in winter once snow falls until spring but it can still get cold up here sorry if it's a long post I wanted to cover everything i could think of. Thanks

It’s a glorified Ford starter relay. Follow troubleshooting instructions for one of those.
