Stock Chrome Bumpers - Paint 'em? Wrap 'em? Replace 'em?

My last two 2500 Rams had body-colored bumpers front and rear:

My 2024 2500 does not:

I would like them to be body-colored or matte black. I'm wondering what you folks have done to change up your stock chrome bumpers.

I've heard that painting over chrome is not a good idea and stripping chrome from them is difficult and expensive. If I've heard wrong, let me know!

I've seen some incredible wrap modifications done but for those who have done that, how has it held up?

Lastly, replacing them looks like the best way to get the matte black look without all the time, work and expense.

What say you? Have you modified or replaced your bumpers and what did you do?

Looking forward to hearing back when you have the time to respond.

Thanks!

The blue is pretty.
I would get quotes to repaint your chrome (some shops won’t paint over chrome) and I would also get quotes to wrap and to replace with body colored parts from eBay etc.

It’s too bad you can’t hyperdip it, they have a handful of colors but not blue. I dipped mine (I didn’t like the quotes I got)

Removing the bumper to be media blasted, and then painted would ensure good paint adhesion, but could be fairly costly when it’s all said and done.

I wager the more cost effective option to be to find a take-off on eBay or from a scrap yard, but I haven’t really shopped OEM bumpers. Could recoup some cost by selling your chrome unit after the fact.

I agree with Davidbt, I like chrome! All three rigs look great. My previous 2019 Ram was a Laramie and it had chrome bumpers, my current Ram has painted bumpers. I prefer chrome, but not so much that I'll spend any money changing out the painted bumpers for chrome ones...

It all depends on the style you are going for
I like chrome on some things.
But I was disappointed with RAM and the Power Wagon.
Truck looks great with the all black front end and black rear bumper. It sets the tone.
But why put chrome lug nuts on the truck? Only chrome on the whole truck.
And then there is 1 silver bolt on the inner front fenders. Stands out like a sore thumb. Like it's an after thought.

But I fixed the issues for them. Black lug nuts and black bolt
