Steering - Less responsive on freeway?

I’ve only had the truck for a few days now so still getting to know it better. I love the ease of steering and improved turning radius over my 2012 long bed. I’ve noticed that going down the freeway the steering responsiveness seems to decrease. I might just need to get used to it but want to make sure what I am feeling is normal. Is this a feature that can be turned off?

Can't say mine feels less responsive on the highway. Maybe I'm used to the feel after a couple of years. If anything it felt more responsive or slightly "squirrely" to me initially. Do you have the adaptive steering system on your's with lane keep assist? It changes the gear ration, but at lower speeds for better control. If so, at higher speeds you will probably notice or feel it is less responsive.

What truck? Adaptive steering or normal steering? Etc

I would not say mine is less responsive, but I am still getting used to the different steering feeling than my previous 2001 truck. I am told it is normal but it just feels a bit off to me still. I have the adaptive steering option on mine so perhaps that is it. It is a different "different" feeling depending on speed. On the freeway, I would just say that it seems to respond to my input just a bit slower than my old truck, (maybe?). So the steering corrections ingrained in my brain from my old truck and that I do subconsciously while cruising don't have the same result as on my old truck. I would not call what I notice less responsive, just different. I still only have 900 miles on the truck so I think as I spend long hours behind the wheel, my brain will adapt.

Thanks guys, went for a drive today an played around with the Lane Keep Assist and that is what I was experiencing. Less responsive was probably not the right term, but definitely a different feeling when the truck is trying to compensate for something that you are also actively doing. Kind of feels like the steering is floating for a second.

Oh yeah I agree. That torque applied to the steering if you have lane assist on is weird. On our Subaru you can turn off the haptic feedback and just let it make a single beep if you get out of the lane. That is enough for me as usually if I am deviating from the center of the lane, it is for a reason. On my truck there is no sound, only a change in the color of the lane assist light in the instrument dash panel which you don't see since you are looking forward out the windshield. So I just leave it on the lowest correction setting. There are too many times when you are purposely giving someone or an obstacle space where if it is on the higher settings, it almost pulls you back against what you are steering to do. I am not really a fan of how Ram has implemented the lane assist feature. Sounds good on paper but their execution is lacking.
