Steering Box Brace With Western Ultramount Plow

I'm looking to add a steering box brace to my truck to prevent issues down the road since I run 35x12.5 tires (Maybe getting 37's for the summer) and depending on what kind of winters we get here in NJ a little or a lot of plowing each season.

I purchased a Synergy MFG steering brace because they advertise it as compatible with the Thuren sway bar, unfortunately though, the Synergy brace did not fit because of the way my Western Ultramount Plow frame is braced. If the square tubing that makes up the bulk of the brace were a 1/2" narrower, and the mounting tabs were a little longer, it would fit, but as it is, there's not enough space between the plow mounts to fit the brace in there.

Does anyone have any experience with a steering box brace that fits with a Western Ultramount?

My fisher mounts are the same. The only way to make it fit is modifications from what i have seen.

It Stiffens the frame at the steering box its helpful with larger tires a bit i had one on my 05

Back around the time i started this thread I reached out to bad axe parts, and spoke to him about this issue. He sent me a kit with bigger mounting tabs that would give me more room to clear the western plow brackets and cut the main box tube to be a little shorter to fit in between everything. I finally got around getting with one of my welder buddies, and we got it fabbed up and coated, and I installed it today. Everything fit good, I do need a elongate a couple holes in the western plow mount to accommodate for the extra drop created by the steering brace.

I let Chris at bad axe know it worked out, and gave him the measurements, he may offer a western plow compatible version of the steering box brace, or maybe he'll just adjust his design so it's western plow compatible.

Snow ex uses the exact same mount as western but with different receiver horns that pin in to the mount and fisher is a different headgear mount but the same on the vehicle side of things All 3 are part of Donaldson Dynamics company
