Static and breaking up on phone call through wireless Apple CarPlay.

Has anyone else had this issue? Within about a minute of starting a phone conversation I start to get static and distortion on a phone call going through Apple CarPlay on my Uconnect 8.4 non-navigation. I can hear it but the person on the other end of the phone call cannot. So while I’m talking I go into devices and select Bluetooth phone which unselects Apple CarPlay and continue the call. The person on the other end also says when I do that the call immediately gets sharper and more vibrant. I haven’t tested this with Apple CarPlay connected through USB which is something I don’t want to use anyway.

I’ve only had my truck for a couple of weeks. It’s happened a few times, but I assumed it was a random.

Was riding with a buddy yesterday and during a phone call heard the distortion. Not an iOS follower so not sure which iPhone he has other than it's the newest one. He switched call to the phone then back to carplay and it went away. He said this issue happens often and that fix works every time.
