So I bought a 2019 3500 tradesmen.
The rear seat is a full bench.
Can I still do the "seat mod" on this rig to fold down the rear. Haven't seen it on a 2019 yet.

And is there a under seat box out there for me? the husky and DU-HA are for the split seat...

And what is the best fitting seat cover brand?

you can do the seat mod.
not sure on the under seat box.
I've read the carhart covers fit well.

Just did a quick search and didn't find anything. What's the seat mod? Thanks.

You drop the rear seat back and cut 5/8 to 1 1/4 in off the hook brackets that hold the seat in place (depending on your measurements and truck there are videos on u-tube) after you make the cut if you do it right there is a sweet spot when you lift up the back seat where you can fold down the seat back....

I think I explained that right lol

I hadn't seen it done on a bench seat 4.5 yet so wanted to confirm that nothing had changed...

Thanks. I gotta figure out how many different rear seat styles there are and compare that to mine. I have a 2019 3500 Limited dually with a crew cab. My rear seats have the split bench and the seat bottoms are held down with an elastic strap with a snap button on the bottom. My rear seat backs don't budge and I can't get behind them either from the side, top, or through the center flip down cup holder insert (whatever it's called). When I tilt the seat bottom up at roughly a 45° angle, the seat backs still don't budge. Hmmm... need to research more I guess.

I haven't torn into my 2020 Limited CC with the split rear bench, but the seatbacks do move/pivot when the lowers are lifted, just like they've always done.

The strap is there only to hold down the fold flat floor panel.

Just so it's clear, there is no way to pull the seat backs away from the cab UNTIL you unbolt the seat and cut back those hooks. That's the whole point of the mod, it gives you the ability to unhook the seat backs when the bottoms are at a 45* angle.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to unbolt some seats and see what I find.

I did that seat back mod on my 2016 1500 Eco. You don't have to unbolt the seats, just loosen them enough so you can raize the seat back up enough to unhook. Those bolts are in there tight, be sure you have a good extension or cheater bar.
I used a hacksaw and cut 5/8" off, just to the white plastic.
Here's pics:

What is the purpose of this mod?

To be able to fold down the rear seatback to access a little more storage space.

The seatback is still hooked and secure if folded down or up, but when at a 45* angle, you can pull the hooks past the catch on the back cab wall.

There's one guy that did a video that cut out the sound panel to stash a pistol AR. IMHO, that's a really bad idea as it could be construed as a hidden compartment in some states that still have those (ruled) unconstitutional forfeiture laws for suspected trafficking, Just putting a gun back there should be OK if it ever comes to that, but hiding it behind a cutout panel is not wise.

(hint) watch the videos...

I have a 2020 it is a 60- 40 split also . I can pick up the seat bottom and the base flips out to make a flat floor . you can also access the back in th e rear to put a few things you don't need

I did mine yesterday. I guess every truck is a little different, I had to cut a little more off than usual and round my end off to get mine to work smoothly. I wish I had done this years ago on my old Ram.

I couldn't find my Hack Saw so I used my Disk Grinder.. NO, I didn't catch my beard or set the truck on fire, but those sparks were hot!.. You should have seen the wife, she was taking the picture and having a duck at the same time.
