Snowy windshield?

Howdy y'all, so I recently took the 2021 3500 SO to the snow, and upon leaving it refused to defrost. Even when It heated up it simply wouldn't defrost the windshield. The air was hardly blowing across it in defrost mode. Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance.

we just did a week up in oregon and my 2019 had that thing like a sauna blowing hot air onto the windshield after leaving it on for a while. might wanna check your fuses and/or hit the dealership.

Was it in auto mode by chance and do you have the 12" screen? Mine does some weird hvac stuff since last update

The first time I had my 2020 in below zero blowing snow, it wouldn't keep the driver side clear.

I haven't had the same opportunity to check it since the A/C TSB recall was performed.

It was -41 today i had no issue on my 19 defrosting the window, do you have it set to windshield only or windshield and feet?

I'm a Dallas for work and needed to use the heat in the rental car.

Rental car is a rocket. Brand new 2022 Genesis 3.3T RWD. It will get sideways quick with all the nanny stuff turned off.

Week after next is Hawaii, probably get a Jeep. I doubt I'll need defrost.

Yes, 12" screen. I tried all modes, but couldn't get much air across the windshield... Dealer visit incoming

Just for clarification from the OP.... Did you push the physical defrost button to the right of the 12" screen (not on the screen itself) or is there a way to get to defrost in the climate control touch screens? If you pushed the button on the passenger side of the stack and it didn't work, your truck needs to be fixed. If you accessed defrost from some touchscreen menu thing, that might be an issue in the software.

I just ask because of the 'windshield' and 'windshield and feet' comments above.

I suppose it's possible the hard "button" could work when the screen button doesn't but they're both software driven so unlikely to be different. IOW, the "button" is just an extension of the HVAC control the Radio is doing.

your point is well taken brutal. just commenting as someone who designs systems and software for a living. there are so many convoluted things that happen in the dev process in bringing a solution to a consumer and so many unexpected corner case defects that the testing never finds that i never underestimate the obviously illogical solution because you never know how the 1's and 0's are bouncing around in someone else's black box.

developers swearing on twitter is a funny follow. it's profane comments on code checkins from the github api. the electronic world is legacy garbage mixed with half baked compromises cobbled together then patched up with bubble gum and duct tape.
