Rickduu, not sure what you have for a truck, SRW? On my SRW 2500 I put a Fisher MMII 8' steel. To be honest, I'm just so used to Fisher's and have plowed with a straight blade for my whole life so decided not to spend the money on a V-plow. My truck carries the weight easily, this is the 1st truck I've owned that when just driving you don't feel the blade weight on every corner and bump. I put 500 lbs. of sand in the bed during plow season which balances things out nicely and adds traction, I plow about 1/3 of the time in 2WD.
I'm assuming you don't have duals. Have to go with 8' if straight blade, 8.5 if V-blade, can go larger if plowing a big paved area. I'm not as familiar with other brands so just talking Fishers, if you go straight blade the stainless looks nice and obviously won't rust but is a lot heavier than steel because they add an angle of attack adjustment system that IMO you don't need and adds weight. In a V I'd likely have gone stainless. Other questions, ask away!
