Hello, brand new to the site so here goes. Enjoy long walks on the beach, holding... no wait wrong site. I've recently bought a very large trailer that requires a very substantial tow vehicle.
My basic camper specs are a 5th wheel toy hauler with a max tongue weight of around 4K lbs and a gross trailer weight of 20K. I live in NY and this is what I'm looking for: 3500 Dually, Cummins HO,
MAX TOW pkg, crew cab, 4X4 are pretty much the necessities, anything else will be considered based on price and usefulness. I'm an engineer by trade/mind and thus drill into models (tradesman, big horn. laramie etc)
pretty deep to see what makes the most sense to get the cheapest and yet get what I want. I found a truck, went to the dealer to get a price, note: I work for a company that I get FCA affiliate awards (1% below invoice) and I'm good with that, I state that and then they come back with a $5K add on top of MSRP, WTF??? Is that even legal? Whatever, more fish in the sea/dealerships that hopefully won't do that (given the current status of new vehicles).
So today I find a 2022 enroute to a dealership with everything I want AND it's a tradesman BUT has a 12" radio/display which I love that 2021 you couldn't get, so I go to the RAMTRUCK website and no 2022 info, ughhh...
Sorry for ranting, just frustrated as I'm sure many many people are.
