Service 4wd message on dash

New guy here. own 3500 6.7 cummins 4wd 2016. Just a quick post to alert others about recent problem: service 4wd message at 42,000 miles. Local Autozone could not read code. Local garage could not read. Took to dealer to read ($155 charge just to read). I suspected front axle actuator but needed to be sure. Dealer agreed after code read. Estimated cost of repair was $1210. Part from dealer was $865, rest was labor. I declined help. Bought part from NAPA for $330. Some cheaper ones out there, but some had bad reviews. Installed part in 15 minutes at home. So far so good. Service message gone and 4wd operable. Dealer was a terrible ripoff.

Did you expect anything different from a dealer. Unless it's a warranty issue I never go back after purchase.
