Out hunting this morning and I used 4wd while turning around in slick spot. When i shifted back into 2WD it seemed fine, but something sounded a little funny. I stopped and shifted back into 4 and then to 2. It flashed the service 4WD message and the same message stayed on. Pushing the 2WD button does nothing. I was concerned about driving it home in 4wd, but it spun the rear tires on gravel and not the front. I also don't notice the steering input I'd usually feel in 4wd. I couldn't get it in for service for a couple weeks at the dealership, so I'm wondering if anyone has any guesses or advice of things to look for.
Thanks

Coming down a very steep 4x4 road a couple of weeks ago with our Ram Power Wagon on the back side of Mt Garfield my transfer case switch started disabling the 4 Low when it was really needed. Had the hill descent on, sway bar disconnected, and the lockers engaged and so it decides to go into 2WD. Not good timing for failing. Replaced the switch. Did the same trip again and no more issues.

I just got my truck back from the local dealership. I dropped it off a couple days early because I wouldn't be around for the appointment and they worked it in and got it done early. Diagnosis was internal fault of front axle disconnect. Replaced front axle locker disconnect and tested as working. I got lucky and it was still covered under the powertrain warranty which is nice. Good to have it back working, especially since it's my busy time of year for outdoor stuff.
