I have a 2021 3500. A while back I read on here about some guys who made their own wired trailer cameras. I tried but for whatever reason I had some difficulty making it all work (I think it was my cable). I decided to try a cheap wireless route and it works amazing. Most expensive part is the Ford cable (factory pigtail). I don’t know if Ram sells the cable alone yet, but you can get it from Ford. You just match up the pins with an audible continuity tester. I will attach photos. I think the Ford cable was like $130 shipped, wireless camera hardware $11 eBay, $15 eBay camera, $12 mini pelican case for waterproofing the wireless sensor that will be in the bed of my truck, clipped to a tie down ring. I tried this on the bumper plug but for some reason it won’t work. However, I want to run it in the bed anyways. Best part, carrying a spare wireless transmitter and camera for the cost. The trigger wire to power the back up camera is the back up lights on my trailer. Trailer is a 8x16 cargo. My 5th wheel is at my house out of state and I am going there in a couple months and will add this to it too, it’s right at 40’. According to the description, this should be way under the distance it works. Since it’s in the bed of the truck, there is no cab or other electronics close to it to mess with the signal. I added a daytime and nighttime view. Almost can’t see the difference. Got some good high mounted LED’s on trailer makes it daytime.
