Just bought a travel trailer. Have a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman with the tow package. I want to add a backup camera to the trailer. It's prewired for it. Tech at the dealer when I picked it up yesterday said to just take out one of the running lights at the top and wire in a blue tooth camera. Ok, easy enough. The running light I would use is in the perfect position.

Question - I don't want a separate backup camera. I want one that works in my in-dash screen. Anyone have some advice on this project? Which camera, how to integrate into existing Uconnect screen?

Don't think that's happening for yah. The complaint of many I believe. Keep searching and/or others will chime in.

I don't have the tow package on my 21 but have a Furion camera on the TT and use the large screen they come with only for backing in certain places. Most times it is in storage.

Sent from my semi-smart telephonic device

Mopar sells a trailer camera if the truck has the 12pin rear plug but i hear its bad quality, prewired campers dont work with the oem system

The original ANALOG camera was low quality. We're all using aftermarket wired cameras.

The cameras for Tow mode in the digital rear view mirror or the 4-camera Trailer surround system are digital and the same as the tailgate and digital CHMSL rearview camera.

There are several camera threads in the towing forum and in the Modifications forum.

For the 19-20 trucks with the 12-pin analog Aux Trailer camera setup, we have an aftermarket box - NAViKS that can display cameras all the time on UConnect. It also offers 2 RCA video inputs for those that don't have the bumper/bed 12-pin. This isn't ready yet for 22.

Do you have the digital rearview mirror?

Do you have surround view cameras? (not sure it's available on a tradesman).

I have the towing package with the features below. Do not have the digital rearview mirror. I have the camera plug in the rear bumper. I'll take a look at towing section, thanks.

  • Mirror-Mounted Auxiliary Reverse Lamps
  • Power Adjustable Convex Aux Mirrors
  • Center Stop Lamp with Cargo-View Camera
  • Matte-Black Grille with Chrome Accents
  • Premium Black Power Tow Mirrors
  • Surround-View Camera System
  • Trailer Reverse Guidance
  • Blind-Spot with Tag Trailer & Cross-Path Detection (Unavailable with some configurations)
  • LED Tail Lamps (Unavailable with some configurations)

The Truck Surround View gets you the 12-pin Trailer plug.

It's a digital 4-camera system, $995.

You won't be able to keep it up on the UConnect screen for more than 8-10 seconds while moving > 8MPH unless/until NAViKS updates their box for UC5.

There may be someone here that got it and isn't going to use it, put a WTB up in the buy/sell/trade forum.

There's also a guy on cumminsforum selling his if it's not already gone.

I love the digital rearview mirror and the trailer camera. I did sell the 360 Camera system.

I just bought the furion with the 7 in screen, you will like it even though it is not exactly what you want.

Good morning.

I'm hoping to get some technical help.

I have a 2021 RAM3500 Limited with Trailer Camera Wiring and Digital Rearview Mirror

I'm looking to do the following.

1. What is the correct Mopar part number for the compatible camera kit (What I have is 82216068AD)

2. Once the trailer camera is connected, how can I display the trailer camera on the Digital Rearview Mirror?

Thank you
