Rough Vibration towing

I'm on my 2nd engine after only 2200 miles so every sound makes me think. (Long story but it was ultimately a very rare production flaw)
Question? Towing off the line from a dead stop or less than 10-15mph (Stop Lights) If I get a little too hard on the throttle.....I get a rough vibration that sounds like its in the engine or transmission. As soon as I felt this I let off the throttle and eased back into it and rough sounds goes away. It is repeatable when I checked at the next couple of lights but not repeatable when Im not towing (No load). Is this normal? Some kind of protection against over torquing the driveline or something else?
Thanks in advance if anyone has an answer?

Please give the dirt on what happened to the first engine, most find it interesting and it helps feed our paranoia  When they bolted her back together it’s quite possible that something was not torqued back properly.Maybe back to the dealership:mad:

Id bring it back! In my dealership days we had this bird brain tech that would constantly leave bolts loose. Incidentally I saw a newer HD CTD coming in to town on a flatbed two days ago. I just wondered, CP4????

Sometimes a slip-yoke that is dry and/or binding can act like that. Also, VERY interested to know about the "very rare production flaw". I saw a youtube hotshotter who had a 6.7 in a 5500 fail catastrophically. Other than a couple features I like, I really wish I had searched out an '18 leftover, at this point.

Truck Details - 2019 Cummins - 68RFE - 4x4 - Knight Edition Big Horn Crew Cab 6.4 bed - 20" rims - All stock except airbags

The Dirt (First Engine) - 2200 miles towing up a slight grade fully loaded toy hauler with two quads on the BlackDiamond cover. (Heavy but not overloaded) I have towed this same load on my previous 2014 Big Horn cummins with the same trans. Started to hear a slight tick(Similar to the DEF tick after shutting of your engine) Tick got louder quickly with throttle. Engine began to shake and was loosing power. (I was on the SoCal freeways) Able to get off the road when it stalled in the parking lot. All fluids were good, temps great, no engine lights or alarms, actually had just commented to my wife what a difference in towing the new truck had compared to the 2014. Four hours later and four tow trucks later (even a longer story on that) we got home on a holiday.

Dealer explanation - Wrist pin (I think) broke or came out and the rod destroyed the cylinder. (New Engine)

Dealer issues - Damaged my cab when removing to replace the engine. Just about every wiring harness push pin not put back. Missing bolts on my running boards. Airbox not secured and band clamps not tightened on the turbo. (And thats just half of it)

Current load details - 400 miles on new engine - No toys in the toy hauler (30 ft. For.Riv. Stealth) Full 160 gal of fresh water. (Really light for a camping trip in the Sierras) Dry weight of trailer 6442 + 1336 (water) + 500 (gear) = 8278 estimated weight. Equalizer Hitch. Five hours into our return trip (Temps and towing great). Going through small town stop lights not wanting big rigs to get in front of me. Getting a little hard on the throttle is when the noise (deep sounding vibration) was heard but not really felt. As long as I didn't push it too hard again it towed great. (no noise, vibration, anything)

I'm sure its just me over thinking it......but when you hand over a lot of hard earned money.....you want perfection! Not to much to ask.

Thanks again everyone.

That's definitely a rare and unexpected failure in a Cummins motor.

That lack of attention to detail is inexcusable. That dealer needs to be avoided.

Is it possible it's just tires? Do you have plus size aggressive AT or MT tires?

I think it could be the exhaust [or some other part] touching the frame or crossmember. This seems to be happening only in the lower gears and with heavy load, thats when the most torque is applied to driveshaft causing the most deflection on engine mounts which could allow something to touch the frame, making a loud sound? I would check for close tolerances between exhaust components and frame/crossmembers....
