i have a 2017 ram 3500 4x4 thought i would by a new front bumper . was told by shop that sells them that road armor Vaquero was what i needed. ordered in Dec the drooped 1st 1 and it bent the outer headlight bracket so waited till jan 6 to have a new 1 installed. now 21 jan and its rusting thru paint. no undercoating, primer, and very poor quality of spray paint. paint not covered by warranty. so for $1800. i got a new pos rusty bumper. so beware dont buy these bumpers

Probably slag in the paint that’s rusting from whatever was cut off with the angle grinder.

Those welds and grinding marks are awful. Its like something was cut off of it and it was not fully welded. I would not have paid anything for that. What awful craftsmanship. But I would have taken my money elsewhere after finding out the first bumper could be bent by dropping it.

Brand new to the board.
If you guys are interested in quality bumpers and want to take advantage of the Canadian/US exchange rate take a look at bulletproof prerunner bumpers.
I have no affiliation with the company but have purchased two previously and I am bout to purchase a third for my new 2024.
These are real 3/16” plate not stamped tin.

Not to be that guy but that is NOT a prerunner bumper not even close.

You are that guy.
The manufacturer has several models, one of which they call the prerunner.
Psst just between you and I there are not too many full size Dodge rams with Cummins diesels, running off road races.
Don’t be that guy.

It’s not just him, I had the exact same thought.

That bumper is quite expensive, huge, and looks like it weighs 1000 pounds.

Here at home they are less than road armour or iron cross. 1000lbs? You are humorous. In this country, deer and moose are thick as fleas come fall time. I have his three deer and one moose in the past 6 years and drove away without any leaking glycol.
Your tin ones buckle and you are calling a tow truck.

I’ve never had a “tin” bumper buckle, but then again I slow down when the moose and elk are around. If you’ve hit 4 animals in 6 years I’d have different concerns than how the bumper holds up.

Is that how it works? So if I call a semi truck a car does that mean I can register it as one? Lol. None of those models are really appealing or worth the cost for how basic they are. The fleetgaurd is the only 1/2 decent looking one

True, still not sure that’s a good price for that.
No its really not since they are very basic bumpers. Considering I could get at least 2-3 out of one sheet of 3/16 and the cost of plate is ~140$ EA I could sell a basic bumper like that at about 1/2 the cost and still make good money per unit.
