i have a 2022 2500. I noticed when moving in reverse and I take my foot off the gas Pedal the truck seems to slow quickly. I’m guessing this is normal?

How fast are you going? Its a low gear and when not on the throttle the engine wants to go back to idle

1. It's DBW
2. It's diesel and you're backing up a drive so it's fueling and letting off the pedal isn't going to be an instantaneous response.
3, I know if I make a numbered list I need to have at least three items but I'm being a rebel today.

"Slower than old truck" as in old diesel or gasser?

Well, it’s a 2500 diesel so it’s a bit more weight most likely. Secondly, the gasser has a throttle plate - when you step on the gas it opens it up and supplies air which immediately increases the RPM… CONVERSELY, when you come off the pedal, you lose airflow, which decreases RPM and thereby slows you down because you are still in gear. I think I have this right - someone correct me if I’m wrong please. Think of this, when you are going down a grade in a gasser and let off the gas, you immediately start slowing down. In your diesel, you don’t really slow down that much unless you engage the exhaust brake. Add a trailer and it really becomes evident.

Except the 6.7L has a throttle body/valve.

Again, it's more to do with DBW and fueling than the throttle body.
