Retrofitting Homelink Garage Door Remote

When you did this is the homelink on ignition and the vanity light is constant? I assume you just followed the infotainment instructions? I bought the same harness.
I don't want the homelink to be constant so people could break into my car and open my garage while parked outside.
Yeah mine is ignition on. Honestly I don't really like that because I always turn my truck off and then I'm like dang, I wanted to open the garage door. My garage is separate from my home.

I saw your post about getting hot to the passenger mirror, you'd just need a two conductor wire and just tie it in with the driver side. Maybe @Jimmy07 could make you one. I do remember fishing that cable to the mirror from the overhead console tried my patience though.

I bought these wires and posi taps. I was going to connect one wire to a constant and a ground on the driver side like you mentioned with the posi taps. Im going to use a multimeter to make sure I find a ground wire to posi tap into and a constant power wire to posi tap into the driver side.

So I installed the homelink visor with the provided infotainment.com harness. Watching the YouTube video on there ram 2500 19 and up got it done. Weird thing is my OH console is slightly different than the one they show on the video but I was able to get it to work.

I was going to wire the passenger side vanity light but going to wait on that for now.

Here are more pictures of my Over head console. I'm thinking of grounding the ground wire to a bolt over the OH console and tapping the other wire into a constant wire in the OH console. Any idea which wire to tap in? I might just use a multimeter to see what to tap into.

Different perspective. I have Homelink on my 2020 Limited and can't stand it! For the life of me I can't figure out why they put the buttons on the forward facing side if the visors are down, which mine are all the time. Most of the time it works fine, occasionally it doesn't for some reason. I got tired of dealing with it so I just put my Liftmaster opener remote in the little pocket in the door armrest, fits perfectly. Three buttons for my three garage doors and easy to do by feel. I do use the Homelink though, to open and close my Retrax Power tonneau cover lol.
