I'm considering removing my factory vinyl B pillar covers. There are several videos on YT on how to do this.

Has anyone here done this?

Is it as easy as it seems?

Any Regrets? Concerns? Pitfalls?

Here is one of those videos.

If it is an older truck beware that the paint may have faded some. Else wise easy to replace with better/vinyl colors if you change your mind.

Did it after the first month or so. Really easy to peel off with some heat or let sit in the sun. I had some adhesive residue to deal with but some goof off took care of it. Go slow and easy and it doesn't take too long. No regrets.

Can you share a picture please?

I did it on my '03 Sentra and had no regrets. However, I did something similar on my '06 S2000, where it had black vinyl on the windshield surround. Many had removed theirs with no issues, but when I removed mine there was a spot near the middle of the top of the windshield frame where the paint wasn't finished. Probably about the size of a silver dollar.

This whole time I thought the vinyl was plastic and Limiteds came with it painted, lol. I'm still debating but I will more than likely remove it. I'm not a fan of the matte black, looks cheap. If RAM made them gloss black it would look much better in my opinion.

For reference, on my 2013, the vinyl trim was good for about 5 years and then the edges started bubbling or lifting off. Fairly easy to remove but by then the exposed paint on the truck had faded out some so the pillars no longer matched exactly.

Good point. My 2015 still looks great, and all it has to do is make it to trade in day when the 2500 gets here. But worth considering for the new truck

Which is why I had mine swapped to gloss black at the tint and ppf shop....

Ok.... Decided not to take off the vinyl yet. Went in this direction instead.
