Does anyone have pictures of this upper dash tray removed? I’ve removed the 2 screws and pulled up and back and was able to release the clips on the front, but the tray won’t come out. I’m trying to mount a 67designs rail in it

It does not come out its molded in if im not mistaken

The front has 3 or 4 clips. But the sides seem stuck in place

The tray is part of the unit, it's not removable, at least not unless you cut it out.

I have the 67 designs base currently, and I'm not a huge fan, especially if you're mounting anything remotely heavy. I think there is a better option with the ICS Fab (link).

Thanks. I’m still going to give the 67 designs rail a shot. Is that what you have that isn’t working well for you? What are you mounting?

I have the same mount, with the little arms. The issue is that the head unit area doesn't have enough of a base so it wiggles. I initially only had the head unit of a FTM400 ham radio, and recently added a 8" Garmin. It holds, but it has some wobble for sure.

Do you have any pics of your setup?

I like the clean look of only the rail. I’ll be mounting a phone daily, but for trips mounting a garmin Zumo xt and a garmin in reach.

I’m wondering if I’ll be able to put a plate beneath the tray if needed to reinforce it
