So coming from a '20 1500 that had the key fob remote start, it would reach from a pretty far distance and was pretty responsive to the double tap. My '25 power wagon is odd...I can be in my garage hitting the remote start, from like 15 ft away, and I have to keep pressing it multiple times to get it to respond. sometimes I press it and it just honks once at me and never starts. Anyone else seeing the same behavior??? I ask as I have some other odd things happening with mine...mainly electrical. Awesome when you buy a $75k truck. I feel like the build quality of my '20 Laramie was better overall (minus the crappy eTorque).

Same with both remotes?

There are preconditions , some of which are door and hood ajar, no check engine light. ETA, low fuel, forgot about that one. Possibly some others that I'm not aware of.
Might be something in the RFH. It's new, take it back and make them fix the issue.

My experience with the fob on my 24 is much worse than previous Rams. It’s a bit of a known issue as I understand it. My truck has the same issues with response via the buttons. In addition to that the keyless entry works about 60% of the time and I have to start the truck with the fob to the button at least every other day. The dealer offered to charge me $250 to reprogram the fobs to the truck with 12000 miles on it to see if that might work. Other than this issue my truck is flawless and I love it despite this inconvenience. I agree it’s a lot of money for the issues, I wish that wasn’t the state of things across many brands.

first thing I’d try. Repkace the batteries in the fob and make sure all of your fuses are fully seated

And no cheap batteries! I found issues with anything but good name brand batteries compared to the cheapies. I buy the energizers now they are decent price in the large packs and they seem to last the longest ( all my gun sights that use batteries are the same 2032 coin thats where the longevity comes in lol)

Thanks for all the ideas. I have done all that and think it’s something with the truck. I was with it the other day and hit the start and just honked once and did not start. Did it again and same behavior. Full tank and everything. Was curious to see if the behavior was something others were seeing it too. Again, there are some other gremlins that have been sent to ram as they are software related and the dealer cannot seem to resolve. We shall see.

In the 22’ 1500 that I had, I switched the top center brake light and white bed lights to LEDs. It would unlock fine, but the remote would only work from feet away once the truck was unlocked. I also had to use the fob and touch the button to start the truck.

After some research, I discovered that the LEDs were emitting an RF that interfered with the remote sensor. Switched back to incandescent bulbs and the issue went away

It could be something like that. Has the truck always had this issue?

That's crazy! Yea, I've only had it for about 4 months and it has been the normal behavior. I could be inside the house on a cold morning and start my 1500 with 0 problems...this is def not the same. I know it's 1st world problems but it's little things like this, when they go backwards in execution, that drive me crazy!

I recently activated remote start on my '24 2500 and programmed an aftermarket keyfob that seems to have great range. I park my truck in one of our two metal garages, and I can start my truck from inside the house about 60 feet away. Mind you that metal garages tend to block signals.

I was able to program it in the first try using JScan. Tailgate open feature also works.

On my previous Ram, if I used cheap batteries in the keyfob it had bad reach, and I almost had to be inside the garage to activate remote start. Also, if you press remote start and you hear a honk but no start, I suspect your battery voltage is too low. I use a battery tender in very cold weather to keep the battery topped off.

This may not apply, but I've had another issue lately. When it's below 15 degrees or colder, my truck won't start remotely. It will turn over, fire up for a second, than shuts off. Then when I get in, it will usually fire up normally, but sometime it will keep cranking and not fire up until the 2nd or 3rd try. Doesn't happen every time, every 2 or 3 days. Never happened until this winter. Any thoughts? Truck runs fine, all gauges normal, battery level even good. Just changed the key for batteries a couple months ago.
