Hello everyone!

There are two recalls for Mopar bed steps for some heavy duty Rams:
W24/NHTSA 20V-207: 2019-2020 Ram 2500
W54/NHTSA 20V-207: 2019-2020 Ram 3500

The bed step may fail in certain angular or side-load loading conditions. If a sufficient side-load is applied to the bed step, its mounting bracket may fracture and cause the bed step to suddenly and unexpectedly fail while in use.

The dealer will replace the bed step support brace.

To see if you are affected by this, you can visit recalls.mopar.com or send RamCares a private message with your VIN. We are happy to help you set up an appointment as well!

Thank you!

Does this apply to all factory bed steps, including the automatic ones, or to a specific model?

Looks like it is for the bed step near the rear bumper and not the side steps. Looks like the old recall from last Summer.

I looked at these W24 and it is from July 2020. It applies to the brace on the bed step. I purchased my bed step from a dealer after I bought the truck (p/n 82215842AG). It looks like it has the new style brace. It is easy to check to see if you have the new or old style brace. I made up a quick image using the recall pdf and a pic of my brace before I assembled it.
