Hi, New guy here. 2018 3500 heavy duty dually. Full time rv’r 15,000 36’ fifth wheel. Don’t like the ride height empty. Ideas on removing shims under axle (not the ones between the upper spring). Have air bags so I can bring rear back to “ ride height” after hooking up.

It’s called a reverse level and not uncommon.

Just don’t use the bags to get back to your empty height while loaded, the suspension should sag 1-1.5” under load to have the best ride/handling.

That’s what I planned to do. So, not a good idea to remove blocks?

Using airbags to lift back to the empty height is never a good idea, with or without the blocks.

How thick are the blocks?

Factory ones, .5” each there are 3 each side

Take some empty and loaded measurements. Then do the math on how many you can pull and still not support all the loaded weight on the airbags.
