Ratchetting sound coming from near Steering Wheel? (Ram 3500)

Hey all,

I bought a new RAM 3500 Limited in Nov, 2021 (2021 RAM) and it has almost always been making this annoying ratchetting sound. I can't exactly pin point where its coming from, it starts shortly after hitting some bumps (really bad on like gravel roads) and then will continue for the entire drive on the smallest bump, but the two times I've taken it to the dealer they just say they cant reproduce it and do nothing.

Any idea what this could be?

sounds like something obviously loose with the suspension. have you had someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you take a look at everything underneath?

It could also be some wiring rubbing up against the steering column. I had a wire resting on mine and it would make that noise when I would turn the wheel

Most likely, it is the brake pedal. Same exact thing mine does. 2022 2500 6.4. Took to dealer they said it was normal… thinking of contacting FCA directly cuz it’s not normal. Next time you go over bumps that you know cause it, just lay your foot on the side of the pedal applying slight pressure toward the gas pedal. I’ll almost promise you, it will stop. I currently have a small bungee cord holding that lateral tension. Stops 90% of it. $75k truck problem with a $1 temporary fix. Please let me know if your dealer tells you anything otherwise. But I’m certain, that’s the same issue.
