So I'm saving cash money for my Ranch Hand bumper. In my research to see how easy it is to bolt up, I've found a few mentions of rust issues.

Who has a Ranch Hand bumper. How long have you had it? How's the paint? Any rust issues?

Their reputation and cost should mean a better quality finish. Now I'm not so sure.

Im considering ordering a bare bumper and having a local power coater from Nish it to match my truck.

I have one on my 2001 3500, been on there for 5-6 years here in iowa and no rust issues. Bottom line, don’t leave salt on em.

I've had one years ago on another truck and it rusted around the cage parts and front receiver hitch, just surface. Didn't keep it long enough to see a long term effect. The one I have now has a few tiny spots around the welds, but nothing too bad. I figure it will last long enough before I no longer own it so to me it's not a big issue. I also don't see any road salt or things like that here so it won't rapidly degrade if at all. I actually went around and spot-sprayed areas with RP-342 just to be proactive but again it's not a huge problem and only a tiny bit on mine.

If you still have doubts have them or yourself powder coat it. I feel the structural build quality of the Ranchhand is second to none so a little rust spots here or there doesn't affect my decision to buy one. Like stated above you can do a few things to be proactive and preventing anything major.

I have had a couple of them. The welds rust. I was told by the bumper installer it would last longer if I spray WD-40 on it from time to time. That did seem to help.

i have one on my 02..since 03..its shoing a little rust...of course anywher the finish gets damaged it rusts...but otherwise its golden..im in fl tho...also jusu put one front and rear o my 2020 2500..still shiney
