RAM's towing guide VIN Lookup is broken or offline more often than not.

For newer model year trucks, you may be able to retrieve the data using the following link - adding YOUR VIN to the end:

https://www.ramtrucks.com/towingws/TowingServlet?rid=ram&serviceType=json&action=TOWINGINFOBYVIN&vin=

Then copy that json code (text) and paste it in here:

json2table.com

You'll get a table formatted with your data.

My ol Mega cab is really limited on towing weight but I'll never touch over 20k.

I ran my vin number and it worked. Can we trust these are correct numbers? I have searched the web looking for towing capacities for my new Ram and found discrepancies and I am unsure of what the truck is legally capable of towing. My salesperson doesn't even know the towing information. When I asked him for the numbers, he sent me links that he uses that are 6 years old. He didn't even know that there is a break-in period for towing on some trucks. I don't have much faith in my dealership, which is unfortunate. Anyway, I believe these are good numbers and I'll use them. I would have liked the numbers a little higher, but I can live with a "max_towing:14810.76". Does anyone know what the "mpi & hpims" stand for in the charts. The 3 items below are from my chart.

1. max_towing:14810.76
2. mpi_max_towing:14740.0
3. hpims_max_towing:14992.0

Yea, my 2020 doesn't work either.

It worked for my 22 Bighorn 2500. 2,156 payload. 19,956 max tow. 7648 curb weight.

This link works for my truck (2024 3500) and is basically just like the old towing lookup tool. Thanks for the link.

Double check your VIN off of the door sticker. Even the equipment listing from Ram isn't pulling that VIN.

Here another link that might work for those having problems. I know it's a chevrolet site but it works for some of our Rams. I used "sstoner911" vin number that was in the pic he attached.
