Looking at buying a RAM 5500 truck, some dealers have what I am looking for option wise and a price cheaper than I can custom order at, but they have the heavy duty front suspension and I dont plan on running any snowplow, heavy bumper, camper etc so I would like the normal weight front springs. How big of a job is it to swap these. With a large spring compressor and some jacks and jack stands can be be done without having to dismantle all the control arm/sway bar stuff?
Also are there any better aftermarket spring or suspension options for a softer ride in the front, my search hasnt turned up besides moving to air which is an option but I am unclear if that will make much of a difference for the cost since I dont much extra weight up front or a camper.
