Hi all, I wanted to see if anyone else is having as many problems with their 2022 rams as I am. I ordered this a fully loaded 3500 Cummins HO 4x4 Megacab Limited Longhorn in May of 21 and picked it up in December of 21. For the first month it was great, it has tons of power, rides well and when towing my Case 580SM I hardly notice it back there...but. in February of 22 the problems started

1) Driver assist and safety module died...4 months to replace, did not cave CC, lane keeping, crash warning or automatic braking

2) sunroof leaks water

3) had to replace the right front brake rotor since that side wore twice as fast as the left

4) cargo camera stopped working right after b2b warrenty expired

5) numerous radio issues with the screen resetting, volume going to the max requiring me to shut the truck off and restart

6) Diesel particulate sensor never installed

7) with 60,000 on the truck the fan clutch died

8) numerous recalls

All I can imagine is that to fill orders during the pandemic they started building trucks with factory 2nd parts. The dealers here say sorry warrenty expired. I have been a loyal dodge buyer for 30 years but now I'm just waiting with baited breath for the new Caterpillar Truck.

Sorry about your problems. As for the CAT truck... hate to tell you, but thats just some AI fake rendering. Too bad, though. Looked pretty fun!

Does not sound like that is that bad with any manufactures standards these days

you bought the first year with the HDs having UC5 so thats no surprise you have glitches lots of people did

The brake rotor could have been from lack of maint on your part from the higher millage you should be lubing the slider pins and making sure the pads move freely every 5-10k miles

Electronics will have issues no mater the brand thats why a simple truck is better.

who on here or any HD truck forum is taking their brakes apart with the every oil change to make sure all is well?! Answer: no one. Doesn’t matter if the parts are garbage anyways.

Sorry OP for the problems with a pricey truck. It doesn’t sit well. Shoot @RamCares a message and see if they can help. Worth a shot.

The Cat truck, even if it came to fruition, would be bolted on pieces parts from a major manufacturer. Look at the CAT heavy class 8 truck CT 660 from a few years back, It was an Intertrashable/Navistar with a different hood and CAT badge(s) and a limited run on CAT engines before they put Navistar and Red Headed Cummins in them for the 15 liter size. Hell, CAT doesn't even make diesel engines for highway use anymore.

Just saying...

You dont have to take the brakes apart to see if all is well. When tires are rotated you can quickly inspect the pads through the whole in the calliper and check the pin movement. When you are hauling heavy loads with an HD truck why would you not want to monitor your brakes…. It’s laziness or incompetence to not check your brakes periodically any when rotating the tires every 5-10k like you should its the perfect time to take 2 extra mins to check the brakes and if the pins or pads need to be cleaned up its an extra 10-15 mins per wheel if you are taking your time.

This is the back side of my right rear factory rotor @ 26k. You can see plenty of pad(both were even) and the calipers moved freely. I had a thumpy pedal since around 10k miles if I recall. The dealer(as it’s new and under warranty) stated they checked the brakes around 14k when the tailgate and other issues were addressed and determined all was ok and that I needed to drive the truck more. The truck gets driven plenty. The truck gets fluid film annually with plenty of washes throughout the year. I take care of it. Their parts are junk. It happens with all vehicles. I wasn’t pleased changing brakes on a pretty new vehicle but glad I did.

I agree with a visual when the wheels are off. Sorry OP for derailing.

Yup. Just another internet hoax turned into clickbait by the ignorant and/or unscrupulous toobers.

#2) Most Sunroofs leak... eventually. Or the drains get plugged (maintenance!) Avoid.

5) First year UC5 issues. Yes, RAM did drop the ball on that but current code should be working.

#6) This is fixed with a recall. RAM was granted an exemption by the EPA due to parts shortages and has since issued the fix/remedy. This had zero effect on the truck's operation. I'd be more worried if you're having excess regen issues (mostly a 22 problem.)

CAT truck is a huge internet hoax.
